Tom Jones Comes Forward With Own Allegations, Says Abusers Target Men Too

The recent exposure of sexual harassment and abuse perpetrated by Harvey Weinstein has caused a plethora of entertainment figures to chime into the fray. The latest celebrity to come forward with his own story is Tom Jones who says he himself was the victim of a sex pest.

The Welsh singer suggested that the predatory behavoir is not just rampant in Hollywood but in the music industry as well. Sexual favors in exchange for promotions and career advancements are the norm in the music industry as well he says. Not just is the music industry just as deeply infested with the rotten behavoir, but Jones says woman are not the only target. According to the well known singer men are also the target of sexual advances and abuse in the same way women are. Jones said in an evening interview on BBC Radio 5 Live's Afternoon Edition, "Things have always happened in the music industry as well. There's been people complaining about publicists and different things they've been expected to do to get a record contract, just like a film contract."

When asked if had experienced it personally he said, "Yes. At the beginning, yes." Jones went on to say, "There were a few things like that. But you avoid it. You just walk out… But what's tried on women is tried on men as well."
