A funeral service will take place Thursday for the slain Brisbane teen whose dismembered remains were discovered in a barrel two weeks ago. The 16-year-old teen Larissa Beilby was murdered by her alleged boyfriend, 34-year-old Zlatko Sikorsky who was taken into custody shortly after her remains were discovered and a 28-hour siege on his apartment.

Family and friends of the victim are set to memorialize their slain daughter at noon on Thursday. Sikorsky is accused of killing Larissa Beilby and stuffing her body in a barrel then leaving it on the back of a boat which he dumped on a Gold Coast property. Sikorsky then fled the scene of the crime which prompted a massive manhunt.
The 36-year-old accused murderer was finally discovered at a Sunshine Coast apartment unit which he refused to come out of for 28 hours. Police surrounded the complex and negotiators worked for a day straight to reach a peaceful surrender. After Sikorsky finally emerged from the apartment, he was arrested and charged with murder, torture, deprivation of liberty and interfering with a corpse. Sikorsky also stands accused of murdering another woman in a separate case.

Friends of Larissa held a memorial service last weekend where Deanna Beilby spoke of how the loss of her sister in such a horrible way has left a giant hole in her heart. Thursday, Deanna will accompany her grieving father Peter and her brother Nathan at the funeral service. The service is scheduled to be held at Bridgeman Downs and will serve as a celebration of Larissa's all-too-short life. An attorney representing Sikorsky told reporters his client maintains his innocence and claims Larissa died in a misadventure.
