Mr Jonathan Tomlinson, 45 years old, was convicted to sixteen month imprisonment today for three offences of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. He must also register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
The Hull Crown Court, UK, heard how in December of last year, Mr Tomlinson had parked in front of a school and performed sex acts on himself in his car whilst staring at little girls coming out of school.
He claimed he was without pants in his because he had ‘accidentally defecated’. The Court claimed he had ‘deliberately targeted’ three girls in two villages in East Riding, Hull.
The public prosecutor, Mr Stephen Robinson, explained that Mr Tomlinson had parked near a school when the first girl, aged nine, walked past. He turned on the light in his car to be noticed and started masturbating as she walked past the car.
Mr Robinson explained: “The defendant was staring at her while he was doing this. She walked past the car and the car then drove away. The girl reported the incident to her father. Tomlinson’s next port of call was a bus stop in another village, where he targeted two 12-year-olds after they got off a school bus and went their separate ways home.”
It would appear the first of the two girls “walked past a car parked near the newsagent’s. As she did so the driver, the defendant, turned on the interior light of the car, perhaps indicating he wished to be noticed. She did approach the vehicle and saw the defendant was naked from the waist down.”
This girl also saw Mr Tomlinson staring straight at her whilst performing a sex act. She managed to write down part of the car’s license plate into her mobile phone.
Mr Tomlinson was arrested later that same day. He defended himself by saying that on the first occasion he had indeed taken off his trousers “out of embarrassment as he accidentally defecated in his underwear” and that “rather than go home he had stopped down a residential street, removed his trousers and boxer shorts and cleaned himself while sat in the driver’s seat”.
