A powerful explosion occurred just outside a police station in southern Sweden, leaving huge damage to the building.
Swedish authorities confirmed the explosion. No one was reported hurt from the incident. No arrest has been made either.
Police have yet to determine the cause of the said blast at the police station in Helsingborg.
The powerful explosion caused significant damage to the entrance of the police station and also shattered dozens of windows in nearby buildings.
No one has claimed responsibility yet for the explosion that took place just 50 kilometers north of Sweden’s third largest city, Malmo.
The blast is not being treated as of the moment as a terrorist attack. The authorities are still investigating. Sweden’s top police official, Dan Eliasson, however, described it as “an attack against society.”
There are prevailing suburban feuds between criminal gangs in the country. They are those fighting over territory in major Swedish cities in the past couple of years. It can not be established yet, however, if the blast is related to the gang wars.
The authorities have yet to release reports about interviews with possible witnesses in the area at the time of the explosion.
This is a developing story and The Goldwater will bring more details as they come.
