Evil Florida Man Breaks 17-Month-Old's Ribs, Crushes his Skull before Robbing Child's Mother

The following case is one of the most brutal and evil atrocities that could be committed against an innocent child, and I must warn you it's disturbing.

Authorities in Holmes Beach, Florida say that 31 year old David Earl Vickers was watching his girlfriend’s 17 month old son Luca when he called emergency 911 claiming that he found the young child unresponsive at the home on the 200 block of Peacock Lane.

His girlfriend, Luca Sholey then received a call that she needed to leave work and rush to the hospital to be with her child.

Luca was taken to Blake Medical Center and then airlifted in critical condition to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Once the boy made it to the hospital he didn't survive, and Doctors including the medical team noticed bruising all across the boy's chest and head.

This led to a recommendation for an autopsy on the young boy.

While she was at the hospital with her child, Luca Sholey’s boyfriend David Earl Vickers however was inside the home, robbing her.

Vickers often stayed at home to baby-sit the child while the mother, Melissa Wolfe, worked two jobs seven days a week, according to investigators.

When she returned home, after being traumatized by by the death of her child; she found that many valuables had been stolen from the house including a stereo, a laptop, Jewelry, and cash.

Her car was also missing, as was David Earl Vickers. It appeared he had robbed her blind while she was in the hospital with her dying child and then he fled the scene.

Police then put out an all points bulletin on Vickers saying he was also a suspect in the child's death as well as wanted for the robbery.

Several days passed and the autopsy produced results showing that the child had six broken ribs, severe blunt force trauma to the skull, and was beaten all over his body.

The medical examiner determined that the cause of death however was asphyxiation, and that since Vickers was the only one present; had to be the demonic creature responsible for the heinous actions.

Police later captured Vickers, and he was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

According to the Holmes Beach Police Department, Vickers was in possession of multiple photos and three videos that are believed to have been taken shortly after Luca was abused on numerous occasions. One of the videos is 48 seconds long and depicts Luca “lying on his back on a mattress in significant respiratory distress,” an arrest report states.

Police questioned Vickers about the video, which he admitted that he took on Aug. 18, according to police. Vickers said he found Luca that way and wanted to document the event for Luca’s mother, but he didn’t attempt to call 911 at the time. According to an affidavit, Vickers said he handled the situation “poorly” and had used heroin earlier that day.

During the investigation, detectives found Luca was frequently abused. Medical examiners found evidence of six rib fractures in separate stages of healing. Two of them appeared to have happened about 10 days before Luca was pronounced dead.

He's currently being housed in the Manatee County Jail without bond where if there's any justice in this world he'll suffer at the hands of folks who despise anyone who would hurt a child.
