A Georgia Children's 4-H Club Director has now been charged with the possession of Child Pornography.
For those who don't know, q 4-H club is a group of five or more youngsters guided by one or more adult volunteer leaders. A club can be any size from a small group of kids from one neighborhood to a larger club consisting of youth from all over the county.
This particular club was located in Lumpkin County, Georgia; a small area in which it's said that the news of the arrest of Paul Travis Williams has sent <i>shockwaves through the community</i>, according to <a href="http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/4-h-director-arrested-on-child-porn-charge/624189187">WSB-TV Channel 2.</a>
According to local law enforcement, Williams actually downloaded the pornographic imagery of young children at a 4-H facility on a computer belonging to the Waseca 4-H Camp, making matters even worse.
Williams has been reportedly the Director of the 4-H Club for over a decade with more than 17 years working for the youth center; something that's terrifying for past and current members now raising uncertainty as to what he may have been capable of or committed.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff says that the University of Georgia has developed cyber filters which monitor the traffic of nearby ISPs for such illegal activities that picked up on the transmission of Child Pornography and traced the IP address back to the facility Williams used.
“The 4-H camp is an off-site facility for the University of Georgia,” said Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard. “They had gotten information that there had been some evidence or some things that had come into the 4-H camp, by web and then at that time they reach out to us and we conducted a search warrant and they assisted us with it.”
Sheriff Stacy Jarrard says that investigators Seized a hard drive and electronic devices and now are going through what they believe to be thousands of images found on the equipment.
Currently Williams remains free on bond and denies having anything to do with the Child Pornography on the devices and claims fervently he is indeed innocent.
His attorney says Williams is both “shocked” and “horrified” by the charges rallied against him.
