60's Musician, Jerry Yester of "Do You Believe in Magic?" Fame Charged with Child Porn

In the 1960’s there was a popular band, The Lovin’ Spoonful; responsible for classic hits such as “Do You Believe in Magic?”, “Summer in the City,” and “Daydream” among others.

One of their band members, 74-year-old Jerome ‘Jerry’ Yester has now been apprehended in what the Arkansas State Attorney General described as a “vicious online child porn ring”.

The Federal Complaint states that Yester was arrested by the Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit on 30 individual counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

The Cyber Crimes Unit first became aware that someone from Yester’s residence had downloaded child pornography which prompted Special Agents to raid the home where they located the explicit materials.

Yester was taken into custody at the Boone County Jail where he later posted a $35,000 bond and is now free until trial.

The vicious pedophile is just one of many that seemingly is a recurring theme in both Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry, and for the first time, it appears the years of accusations are coming to the surface.

Yester is described on the band’s website as a “sought-after producer” responsible for the hits of several musicians throughout the past several decades.

Many upcoming concerts on their tour including one at the Tower Theater in Oklahoma City have now been canceled by the venue and are offering a full refund to ticket holders.
