The girl's father has been jailed after neglecting to exercise common sense and putting his daughter in danger. Wesley Mathews, 37, is facing child endangerment charges after he told police he knew coyotes had been seen in the alley he left her in. According to the Humane Society attacks on people are rare and coyotes rarely cause serious injury. Police say Mathew put his daughter outside around 3 a.m. Saturday morning and told her to stand next to a large tree across from the alley but when he went to check on her 15 minutes later she was gone.
Sherin is around 3 feet tall and 22 pounds has development issues and limited verbal communication skills. Police towed the families vehicles later that evening to search for evidence and they are asking anyone with information related to her disappearance to call 972-744-4800.
