Never trust your caretaker when she starts giving you too many compliments about your jewellery, even at a very respectable age is what we would advise when reading this next story.
An unnamed 85 years old woman from Irving, Texas, who returned home after visiting a restaurant with her husband on Friday was stabbed, kidnapped and robbed by the former caretaker of her spouse.
The aged couple returned home at around 9pm Friday evening finding Ms Lesia Ann Cocco, 49 years old waiting for them on the outside porch of their home in Oceanview Street.
Ms Coco had been the husband’s home caretaker after he had spent some time in a medical facility.
The elderly lady has told her husband that some jewellery had gone missing from the house and Ms Coco said that she would show them where the missing items were.
She entered into the car with the couple in the back seat and pulled out a knife, threatening to slice the woman’s throat if they didn’t hand over their money immediately.
But the elderly woman was not deterred, and in a bid to attract attention she honked the car horn several times to warn her neighbours. Ms Coco did stab her with the knife and mad the man drive off to a location near Arlington.
During the drive investigators explained that Ms Coco threatened the couple and said she would have her husband killed if she did not comply.
However, upon arrival in Arlington she jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.
Customers of a nearby gas station, in the 4200 block of South Collins Street in Arlington, saw what happened and notified the police. The elderly woman was taken to hospital.
Ms Coco is now wanted for aggravated kidnapping. Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to contact the Irving Police Department immediately.
