The remains of someone who’s believed to be dead for more than a year already has just been found by the police inside a home on Telfair Drive Monday night.
DeKalb police were called to said home for a welfare check. The officers were surprised to find the bones of a 48-year-old man inside.
Neighbors told the police that the dead man’s sister moved him into the home about four years ago.
One neighbor also shared to the officers how a tree fell on the home a year ago, and when he called members of the family to let them know about it, no one returned his calls.
It is unclear if the neighbors ever smelled something foul from the house with a dead body on it rotting for a year.
It is not yet clear if the authorities have already identified the dead man. No information has been released on the matter. It is also unclear if the authorities have contacted the family members of the man, and if there would still be efforts to probe whether the man died of natural or foul means.
