A man in Oregon has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison after masturbating in public for a fifth time in the last two years. This last time was enough for a judge to send the man to prison for two and a half years last Friday. William James Wimberly Jr., 24, was arrested last in February, he was masturbating in front of two women while walking among the aisles of a Portland baby clothing store.

Less than two weeks prior to the February arrest, Wimberly Jr. was put on probation for masturbating in front of strangers on several different occasions. The authorities say that the 24-year-old has exposed himself at the Hollywood Library in Northeast Portland, at a bench next to a woman at the Parkrose Transit Station and while inside stories in several Portland neighborhoods. His tendency to expose himself and masturbate in public has resulted in being banned from 11 businesses. Court records show that Wimberly suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome. His attorney argued that he has a low IQ and has never been afforded the opportunity to go through sex offender treatment.
Before his most recent incident at the baby clothing store, the judge had finally ordered him to sex offender treatment and round-the-clock supervision at an adult foster home but it did not stop him from re-offending. After Wimberly gets out of prison, he will still be required to go through sex offender treatment.
