As many welcome the new year with loads of resolutions and strategies that they'll expect to accomplish this year, California has officially legalized child prostitution starting January 1st, this is according to the California's new law – SB 1322. The new law decriminalizes prostitution charges for minors.
The SB-1322 Commercial sex acts: minors points out that the existing law makes it a crime to engage or solicit in prostitution. The existing law also points out that it's a crime to loiter in public places with the intention of committing prostitution. However, the SB-1322 Commercial sex acts; minors will make the above provisions inapplicable to children under the age of 18 years who are alleged to have engaged in conduct that would, if committed by adult, violate the above law.
This makes one wonder whether Gov. Jerry Brown, who signed the SB 1322 into law on September 26, 2016 has his faculties intact. Brown stated that youths should get supervision and counselling services instead of being treated as criminals,
California lawmakers stated that children involved in such acts should not face criminal charges, instead they should be counselled. The law decriminalizes children and teens engaging in prostitution, but it does not legalize adults soliciting sex with children.
The California law does not indicate the expected age limit on how young a legalized prostitute can be, implying that children as young as 12 can be involved in prostitution. The same politician who signed SB 277, the vaccine mandate law that caused autism and neurological damage among young African-American is now advocating for child prostitution.
It's such an oxymoron that Gov. Brown has given children the legal immunity to engage in prostitution but as soon as it's 18 years, they are handled as criminals.
If prostitution clients engage in sex acts with children under the age of 18, they are considered sex offenders or rapists. However, the Governor and legislature claim that 17-year-old prostitutes are allowed to stand on street corners and conduct prostitution with complete legal immunity.
