The Fresno County Sheriff's Office say they've made an arrest of a Physical Education teacher from Herndon Barstow Elementary in Fresno, California after multiple reports of child abuse.
According to Sheriff's Detectives several parents contact law enforcement after their children told them that the PE teacher had choked multiple students in his classroom with a jump rope.
"We learned that there were four kids who had suffered some injuries. What they had was redness around their neck and shoulder area,” Tony Botti of Fresno County Sheriff's Office said. “The statements we got from the kids is that Mr. Samhammer had disciplined them during class out on the blacktop. What he did is he took a jump rope and wrapped it around their necks, took it back and then let it go."

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies then raided the home of the teacher and took him into custody.

64 year old Peter Samhammer, of Clovis, California has now been charged with four felony counts of child abuse, according to authorities.
Representatives from the Central Unified School District released the following statement:
<blockquote>"Mr. Samhammer is on official administrative leave. Student safety is a top priority for the district and as such, we are fully cooperating with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and will continue to do so throughout the course of its investigation."</blockquote>
There is no word yet as to whether any students have suffered long term physical injuries but they're undoubtedly suffering from mental stress.
