In every interview I read at my dentist office (I’m really a classical music and jazz fan myself), US rappers always seem to say they don’t give a s**t about haters. Which is probably why they mention them in every song I guess.

Two rappers who apparently hated each other so much got into a brawl yesterday, and one of them ended up getting shot. That is pretty much what sums up the story in today’s press.

Hip-hop artist young Dolph (real name Adolph but that didn’t sell well) was wounded in a shooting that on Hollywood Boulevard’s tourist center yesterday.

Young Dolph, 32 years old, appeared to have been shot multiple times during an argument with three other men outside the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

It was later reported that police have named Yo Gotti as a person of interest in the said shooting.

TMZ has meanwhile confirmed that Gotti and Dolph were staying at the same hotel when their respective crews got into ‘a bit of a spat’. Apparently as soon as you turn rapper you gotta have an entourage. Never a good idea to surround yourself with yes-men according to me, but then again, I don’t rap.

LAPD Officer Meghan Aguilar commented to local radio station KTLA: “They had an argument, which escalated to a physical fight. At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground. And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.”

One arrest was made but it isn’t clear yet whether this is the shooter. “We have one individual detained. We’re not sure if that was the person who shot Young Dolph,”

The two rappers from Memphis have been known to be in a (probably PR-setup) fight for a while now. The story is that Gotti wanted to sign Dolph, but the latter turned him down.

It is also possible that Yo Gotti tried to test whether Young Dolph’s latest album title (I’m Bulletproof) was accurate.
