Through devious manipulation, the left and the liberals want every American to feel and act as if protesting against President Donald Trump and his administration is the fashionable, “in” thing these days. Worse, they would like to perpetuate the belief that it’s the only “right” thing to do at this point in the nation’s history.
So much so that a few of the misguided ones forget their sworn duty and official functions and -whether wittingly or unwittingly- join the fray of protesting liberals who want nothing more but to create even a mere perception of “bandwagon”. Take the case of police officers themselves protesting…police brutality for example.
Two black police officers in Chicago now run the risk of facing disciplinary measures against them for an Instagram photo that shows them kneeling beside a woman who has her head bowed, while raising their fists in a “black power salute.”
Since when has it become the duty or task of police officers to “protest”? And from Chicago at that- currently, infamously the most dangerous, ‘murder capital’ of America. Don’t they have their hands full taking care of the shaky peace and order situation in the whole of Chicago to find time and “solidarity” with millionaire NFL players? And aren’t police authorities the first ones that should be non-political and favor no political beliefs and show biases in the discharge of their duties since they’re supposedly protecting everyone regardless of color, political beliefs and leanings, etc.?
The controversial photo was posted Sunday on an Instagram account under Aleta Clark, a community activist who sells T-shirts with the slogan “Hugs No Slugs.”
The photo even bears the unbelievable caption: “That moment when you walk into the police station and ask the Men of Color are they Against Police Brutality & they say Yes… then you ask them if they support Colin Kapernick… and they also say yes… then you ask them to Kneel! #ColinKaepernick #WeSupportYou.
It’s comforting to know, however, that the actions of the two police officers are not reflective of the policy and attitude of the entire police department they belong to. In fact, Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said discipline is likely for the two officers.
Guglielmi said: “We are aware of the photo, and we will address it in the same way we have handled previous incidents in which officers have made political statements while in uniform, with a reprimand and a reminder of department policies.”
Clark does not even care about the potential the repercussions to the careers of the officers of what she made them do. She even complained that “European” officers refused to kneel with her. To her, every one’s just a “photo opportunity” and a warm body, regardless of their official and sworn duties to the people, flag and country.
Not all protests are created equal. There are times and opportunities when it is bold and courageous to do so, for higher purpose and for principles. Then there are times when people like Clark and the liberals give protesting a bad name- shallow, deceitful, empty and selfish that would only harm others and put even otherwise levelheaded officers in trouble.
