Overnight Triple Shooting in Philadelphia leaves Police Searching for Gunman

Law enforcement in Philadelphia says they're responding to the scene of a triple shooting in Philadelphia.

Investigators say that one of the victims of the shooting rampage was found dead, and the other two, a 58-year-old man who was shot in the leg, and a 26-year-old man who was shot in the hip, were both transported to Hahnemann University Hospital where they'll undergo surgery.

Officers say they were originally dispatched to the scene after an emergency 911 caller reported a double shooting but were shocked to find three victims.

The incident happened after 1 AM local time near the 600 block of Perth Place in North Philly.

After authorities arrived a neighbor then told police about a third victim, who he believed was already dead lying near bushes by his home.

That man was described to have been in his mid to late 20s and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Officers also say they believe more than a dozen shots were fired but that they found two different caliber types of shell casings so it could have been more than one gunman.

Witnesses, however, say they only saw one suspect firing who was draped from head to toe in black clothing, implying there may have been a sense of premeditated motives behind the murder and attempted murders.

The Philadelphia Police Department says they will be reviewing nearby surveillance footage in order to acquire whatever potential evidence may have been filmed.
