A 22-year-old man has been raped by another man in a lane near a nightclub early morning Sunday located between Parnie Street and the Trongate in Glasglow.
The victim has just left a nearby nightclub when he encountered the suspect. The police have given limited information on the incident, and are even appealing to the public’s help to solve the crime.
Detective inspector David Reilly said: “The victim has been left extremely distressed by what happened and it is vital that we trace the individual responsible.”
The authorities are examining CCTV footage around the scene of the crime and conducting door-to-door inquiries as they probe the incident and come out with some helpful leads.
Reilly added: “ I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area in the early hours of this morning who may have seen anything suspicious to please get in touch.”
He stressed that the important details to remember are the address of the incident, the date and time when it happened- September 24, Sunday in the wee hours of the morning,, after midnight.
The authorities have only described the suspect as black.
Anyone with information, especially those who may have been in the same nightclub and nearby areas when the crime happened, is requested to contact the Public Protection Unit based at London Road via 101 and give the incident number 1051.
