After a series of relentless excuses offered by Hillary Clinton, President Obama, the rest of the Democrats and their supporters to justify Hillary’s crushing loss in the presidential election, here comes one plausible explanation that actually makes a lot of sense. And it comes from their party mate, the elderly Vice President Joe Biden who offers his “words of wisdom”.
According to the outgoing Vice President, it is Hillary’s failure to communicate with middle class voters that ultimately ruined her presidential ambitions. Biden also revealed that Hillary largely ignored his suggestions during the campaign for her to do more outreach rallies for middle class voters.
Biden hinted that he tried to be as tactful as he could with his suggestions but apparently Hillary chose to ignore the wisdom of the old man. Biden specified that he thought the Democrats constantly made a mistake of not communicating to the “ fears, aspirations, concerns of the middle class people”, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. In contrast, of course, Republican Donald Trump’s strong messages resonated with the voters, middle class people included as he spoke of jobs, security, health concerns, among other top priorities of regular Americans.
Biden also elaborated that "you didn't hear a word about that husband and wife working, making $100,000 a year, two kids, struggling and scared to death. They used to be our constituency."
Biden admitted that dose of elitism “crept in” to the Democratic Party and they appeared “unconcerned” with issues relevant to the working class. The Vice President also disclosed that they failed to reach out to a more diverse set of voters including those who are high-school educated, mostly Caucasians and people of color. More so, they miserably failed to let these people know that they somehow understood their problems.
Too bad Hillary and her allies and staff did not listen then to the counsel Biden’s wisdom and experience brings. Now that they are still stuck in all their pathetic list of excuses for their devastating defeat while attempting to delegitimize Trump’s awesome victory before the public, perhaps they should pay more attention now to Biden. At least he knows exactly why they lost and is at peace with it.
