A man spotted what he believes to be a UFO whilst looking south-west of Cessnock towards Singleton one night. He took out his camera and took video showing a strange formation of lights. The first appear to be a straight line but then other angles show them to be in the shape of a triangle. The man who took the video says he was very confused by the lights and wondered if they were military drones or some other type of aircraft.

The lights are both white and red in the video and appear to be a triangle formation. The man, who didn't want to be named, said he was "Looking to the north, I noticed three flashing lights coming towards me. All of a sudden one went to the left, the other to the right, and the third one kept coming our way." Next he says several dozen appeared over the horizon to join the other formation. "Before we knew it, there would have been 40 to 50 of them, flying towards us. They were spread apart. I noticed most of them did a U-turn and went back again.I thought ‘this is strange, am I in a movie, like one of those attacks from Mars. There were so many out there, it was such a spectacle. It was overwhelming. My heart was pumping really fast."
He described how when aircraft like helicopters or planes normally went over the house he could hear them but these lights made no sound. "There was no sound whatsoever. Normally when an aeroplane or helicopter goes by, we can hear it – even in the house. These were quiet." The man describes that these lights also did not seem to be conventional aircraft because "their movements were too flexible."
The Singleton Military area is north of where the man's home is located but a Department of Defense spokesman said Singleton barracks didn’t have anything going on that night that could have been responsible. But then again, the Department of Defense is going to say, "why yes, we were testing secret drones and were flying them around last night." It is likely there is a conventional explanation for the lights but it remains one of those things, like a word on the tip of your tongue you can't remember. A curiosity that is never satisfied and just left to wonder, will we ever have answers?
