Law enforcement in Lexington, North Carolina say they've taken a degenerate criminal pedophile rapist off the streets.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office says that a Lexington man raped a 13-year-old girl on several occasions.
29-year-old Michael Johnson has been arrested on multiple charges including one count each of felony rape of a child, felony first-degree sex offense with a child and felony indecent liberties with a child.
Police say that the crimes happened on July 1st of 2016 and July 31st of 2016, according to the victim's statement.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office also stated that it began started investigating this past summer after receiving a report of alleged sex abuse against the minor child.
The victim told Detectives her account of the sexual abuse committed against her during a forensic interview at the Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center in Mocksville, North Carolina.
Deputies said during the raid of the suspect’s home they recovered marijuana plants and paraphernalia during the search for evidence
Johnson has also now been charged with felony manufacturing of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana equipment.
Michael Johnson remains detained in the Davidson County Jail with a $175,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a court hearing next month.
