'Disgruntled Apple employee' Causes Biggest Leak Ever

Apple is gearing up for another stellar promotion event at its headquarters tomorrow. At the happening, Apple will release more details about the iPhone8.

Unfortunately for the Cupertino behemoth, most of the details that they will be presenting are already available online.

A 'disgruntled employee' has leaked details about both the iPhone 8 and the iOS 11 software.

Prominent Apple Blogger John Grubber stated: “Someone within Apple leaked the list of URLs to 9to5Mac and MacRumors. I'm nearly certain this wasn't a mistake, but rather a deliberate malicious act by a rogue Apple employee. Whoever did this is the least popular person in Cupertino. More surprises were spoiled by this leak than any leak in Apple history.”

Already in 2012, CEO Tim Cook spoke of the need to "double down" on concealment measures as leaks are becoming more frequent for Apple.

Some of the new features of iPhone8 leaked:

- iPhone X, meaning fresh evidence that Apple intended to unveil another high-end model alongside ‘cheaper’ versions for the new phone

- A new Apple Watch and AirPod headphones images

- Face ID - an alternative to the highly popular Touch ID fingerprint system which can be used to unlock your phone and even make only payments through Apple Pay.

- Animoji - animated emoji characters using your face to capture the facial expression and turn it into an emoji.

CCS Insight Tech Consultant Ben Wood commented that: "There will be an unbelievable effort within Apple to determine how this happened and I don't envy the person that did it because there will be no forgiveness for it. For other companies this might have huge impact on the effectiveness of their grand official launches, but for Apple there is such insatiable demand for even the smallest details and such an obsessive fan-following of its products that even a very detailed leak will do little to dampen the enthusiasm of bloggers and others to report its news."

Long lines at Apple stores coming up we guess.
