A shooting took place at a Plano home on West Spring Creek Pkwy. on Sunday, leaving eight people dead. The police eventually shot the attacker before he could do further harm.
Police said all victims are adults.
Officers responded to reports of shots being fired to the home in the 1700 block of West Spring Creek Parkway, near Custer Road, at about 8 p.m.
The officers encountered the gunman when they arrived and fatally shot him. More than thirty police units responded to the scene of the crime at 9:30 p.m.
Two others were injured in the shooting. No officers were hurt.
Plano Police are still probing the gruesome shooting at the single family home. They have yet to give further details on the identities of the victims, the gunman, or if they are related and how. It is also not clear what the motive of the gunman was to carry out the shooting. The neighbors will still be asked what they know or heard before the incident - if they heard disturbances in the house prior and during the shooting.
