VIDEO: France Terror Alert - Lyon Police Arrest Suspects in Armed Standoff

Gunshots were reported in the French City of Lyon around 8:30 a.m. at a Metro station. The suspects fled and tried to hide in a neighboring community but were rooted out during an operation conducted by RAID agents, the French special police.

The massive operation resulted in the French police arresting 11 suspects so far and an investigation is underway. The neighborhood at Montesquieu Street in the 7th Arrondisement of Lyon was closed off while French police special units conducted operations.

By 9:10 a.m. (local time) the police announced that the operation had concluded but advised residents to avoid the area. A security cordon was left in place in the neighborhood where the operation was conducted.
