Man who Ran into Flaming Effigy at Burning Man Festival in Nevada Dies

Authorities say that a terrifying scene occurred at the infamous Burning Man Festival in Nevada, where a man was evading security actually jumped into the flaming Burning Man Effigy at the event.

An estimated 70,000 people are in attendance at the massive festival filled with drugs and degeneracy in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada for the annual festival.

Music and freedom are supposed to be cornerstones of the event which attracts nearly 100k, however in recent years there have been waves of crime occurring as drug dealers and thieves use the opportunity to profit from the masses.

The festival said in a statement:

“At approximately 10.30pm Saturday evening, a male participant at the annual Burning Man event in northern Nevada broke through a safety perimeter and ran into a fire.

“Black Rock City fire personnel rescued him from the fire.”

“The individual was treated on the scene, transported to the on-site medical facility and airlifted to a burn treatment center.”

Thousands of witnesses watched the scene of horror as the crazed man literally committed suicide whether or not the end result was intentional.

Authorities say it's possible the man could have been on drugs, which is a common theme at the event where LSD, MDMA, and a variety of other “mind-expanding” drugs are used amongst the free-spirited.

The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office says they can now confirm the man has died as a result of his injuries.
