A man in Ohio has been charged after he allegedly slit the throats of four puppies last Wednesday. The person behind the disgusting deed is Christopher Daniel Vandenberg, 38. Vandenberg was arrested and booked into the Richland County Jail for 'Prohibitions Concerning Companion Animals' which is a 5th-degree felony. According to WMFD, Vandenberg hurt a litter of five pit bull puppies to get back at his wife who was out of town at the time.

When she returned home from out of town she found four of the puppies with their throats cut and the fifth had an injury near the legs. It takes a sick person to harm innocent puppies who are incapable of defending themselves, especially from a person 30 times their size. She informed the police of what she found who then brought the puppies to the Humane Society of Richland County. Mrs. Vandenberg says she has no idea what she did to prompt the violent attack on the puppies. She said her husband was arrested after attempting suicide and that's when he admitted to police he was, in fact, the one who had tried to kill the puppies.

Missy Houghton, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Richland County, said the puppies are "healthy, happy and bouncy" as they recover from their ordeal. The disturbed Vandenberg behind the brutal assault on the puppies is being held on $25,000 cash bond.Thankfully the puppies have survived and his attempt to kill them was not successful.
