The DeKalb County in Georgia was hit by an attempted armed robbery Friday afternoon and authorities have detained a suspect.
Chamblee Police said the incident happened in the parking lot of the Sam’s Club on Clairmont Road in Chamblee.
Steve Gehlbach from Channel 2 reports that the victim fought back and the suspect ended up accidentally shooting himself. Gehlback posted on Twitter: “Suspect of armed robbery captured by Chamblee PD. Shot by his own gun as victim fought him off.”
The police have yet to give further details on how exactly the brave victim fought off the attempted robbery of the suspect, and what he was trying to steal in the first place.

When the suspect was already in handcuffs, he still took the chance to share to the reporter that he loves his wife and kids.
The suspect whose identity has yet to be shared by authorities may also be charged for possible attempted car jacking in Sam’s parking lot. The details of it remain unclear, although authorities had to search the area before he was captured.
The condition of the suspect after he shot himself remains unclear, and if he will be brought to the hospital for treatment. The local media remain at the incident for updates.
In a photo shared by Gehlbach on Twitter, the suspect’s right hand could be seen bandaged, so it’s possible that he was given basic treatment at the scene already. Some splatter of blood could also be seen on his shorts, as he was being led by authorities.

Spoke with a local DeKalb Fireman that had actual call related info. The person, that the 3 robbers tried to carjack and rob was a Conceal Weapons Permit (CWP) holder and shot the robber.
I was wondering why the local Atlanta Media had been avoiding a few key facts and details. …………….. I just Armed Self Defense is something the Local MSM does not want promoted.

It turns out the person, that the 3 robbers tried to carjack and rob was a Conceal Weapons Permit (CWP) holder and shot the robber and discharged 2 rounds at the other robber also.
I guess Armed Self Defense is something the Local MSM does not want promoted. It might reduce crime and reduce the News ☺. -n2n
People this GA. A lot of people open carry a sidearm, or have CWP carry here. Plus we love to get involved.
