30-year-old Yanese Tejada went shopping at a Key Largo Publix, but she left something behind while she went for groceries.
Law enforcement says that they received an emergency 911 call about a child that was sitting in a car alone for over a half an hour as of the time the caller had found the child.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, one of their Deputies immediately responded to the scene after hearing on the radio there was a child in a car alone.
As it turns out the child was only a year old, unattended, inside a car, in the Publix grocery store parking lot where the keys were in the ignition with the doors unlocked.
The Deputy, being a father himself, was absolutely furious at the mother who would risk her child's life.
When the Deputy asked what she was thinking, Tejada’s response was even more idiotic than the crime she had committed.
“This is Key Largo, nothing happens on Key Largo,” explained Yanese Tejada.
The Deputy then immediately arrested the horrible parent under the charges of Child Neglect and she is now sitting inside of the Monroe County Jail.
The child was taken into protective custody pending a future hearing.
