Detectives say the quadruple killings do not appear to have a confirmed motive, but that all four elderly adults were killed while sitting around a kitchen table, where it appears they were playing cards.

There is some. Indication that a robbery may have taken place, according to the Halifax County Sheriff, Wes Tripp.

"I knew two of these people personally," Tripp said. "In my 33 years of law enforcement, this is my first quadruple murder."

"All four victims were members of this community and well-known, and well thought of," Tripp said. "You put your emotions aside and you work the case."

So far investigators are completely lost. The victims seemingly have no enemies and are considered respected members of the community.

How or why this happened is why police need the community's help to lead them in the right direction.

Police are now offering a large reward for any potential information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) who may be responsible for the quadruple homicide.

Anyone with information on the suspect's or the victims is asked to call the Halifax County Sheriff's Office at (252) 583-8201, CrimeStoppers at (252) 583-4444, or SBI at (919) 779-8188.
