Karma is real. Whether or not you want to acknowledge it what goes around comes around in all circles.
That's why in Alabama recently a man who was released from jail on bond from charges of sexual extortion was likely shot.
Sometimes the justice system itself doesn't provide the necessary punishment, and more often than not even the most severe of crimes result in a bonding out of detention awaiting trial even when the suspect is clearly guilty.
The Etowah County Sheriff, Todd Entrekin, said that 23 year old Dustin Lee Gibbs, of Attalla, Alabama has been airlifted to a Birmingham hospital.
Sheriff Entrekin said that his dispatchers received an emergency 911 call after 7 PM about a man who had been shot while walking near U.S. 431, which is north of Duck Springs Road.
According to Sheriff Entrekin Gibbs' condition remains unknown at this time, but the incident is currently under investigation.
Gibbs had earlier been arrested for allegedly attempting to intimidate a female victim who is a minor child into having sex with him.
Law enforcement investigators said Gibbs told the female if she refused to have sex, he would distribute private images of her on social media, which is a crime.
The victim later reported the incident to detectives when Gibbs posted nude photos of her online. Gibbs, authorities said, admitted to uploading the image out of vindictiveness.
He was charged with one count of attempted sexual extortion, and a misdemeanor count of distribution of private images. He was released on $6,000 bond.
Now, he sits in a hospital. Something we like to call instant karma.
