South Carolina Couple Charged with Homicide by Child Abuse of 4 Year Old

Law enforcement in Colleton County, South Carolina says that two barbaric parents are responsible for the death of a four-year-old child.

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office says that the child's mother, Francesca Shuler, and her boyfriend, Kasiem Stephens, are now under arrest for homicide by child abuse.

Investigators stated that on August the 17th, Shuler and Stephens arrived at the Colleton Walterboro Medical Center with their four-year-old child acting frantic.

Upon arrival inside the hospital doctors and paramedics attempted to revive the child, who was unconscious when the two dastardly demons brought the four-year-old inside.

Contrary to the best efforts of the hospital's emergency medical staff and their efforts however the child was in cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead.

Doctors said the child appeared to have internal organ damage and bruising all over his poor body.

Sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Tyger Benton says the case was immediately recognized as suspicious and detectives began interviewing friends and family of the couple.

After further investigation detectives from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Department arrested both Shuler and Stephens and transported them to the Colleton County Detention Center charging them each with Child Neglect charges.

They have appeared before a magistrate and were given $150,000 bond each but currently, await the second hearing in front of a Judge to face the more severe murder charges which are pending.

Colleton County Sheriff’s Investigators say that they will be bringing in a SLED team of investigators after an autopsy to determine if more charges can be brought upon the boyfriend who is believed to be responsible for the abuse.
