A massive man hunt is underway across Europe as one of the suspects from the Barcelona terror attack manages to still evade capture. The jihadist being hunted was part of a group that planned terror attacks throughout Spain. 22-year-old Younes Abouyaaqoub was one of five terrorists involved in the plot, the other four have been shot dead by police during another attack on the coastal resort of Cambrils yesterday. Authorities are looking for a Renault Kangoo van that was rented on Thursday in Spain and there are fears the fifth suspect has crossed into France.
Officials believe it is possible the attackers were inspired by the London Bridge attack in June of this year. The attack enfolded when Moussa Oukabir and his hour associates drove a van at high speed down the crowded Las Ramblas streets bobbing and weaving to hit as many pedestrians as possible. 13 people were left dead and more than 100 were injured after the horrifying attack. Among the victims are citizens from over 30 different countries including the United States and France.
In a social media post by the ringleader of the group, Oukabir, he said if he were the absolute ruler of the world he would, "Kill all infidels and only allow Muslims to continue the religion." Security officials in Europe say that the terror cell may have planned to target the Sagrada Familia. There are fears of another attack and the European countries are on edge as the hunt for the terrorist and anyone else linked to the attacks continues.
