Police in Lithia Springs, Georgia have confirmed one death by self inflicted gunshot would of a high school teacher in Atlanta at 7:15 a.m this Thursday. According to reports, an 18-year long employee of the school was air lifted to a hospital after shooting himself in a classroom. Police say that no students were present when the gun went off but confirm the man is in stable condition and no students have been injured. There are two crime scenes, the first is the office of the classroom the teacher shot himself in. The other crime scene is another classroom where the man stumbled into prompting another teacher to call 911.

An interview with a student revealed the man to be their math teacher. He was described by students as always having a smile on his face when he showed up to class. The teacher is married and also has a little girl. There is now a criminal investigation pending against the teacher for bringing a gun onto the schools property which is illegal in Georgia. School for today at Lithia Springs high school has been canceled but is scheduled to resume tomorrow.
It is unclear at this time where the man shot himself but he was able to find another teacher who then called for help. Douglas County Sheriff's Office confirm that no students were in the building at the time of the shooting. There were also no other staff around at the time to witness exactly what happened.
