President-elect’s ‘’Thank-You Tour’’ kicked with his first event of the tour taking place in Ohio, Mr. Trump stressed on the need for unity in America at this critical moment when the nation seems to be divided.
The President-elect said that for the nation to succeed, it’s important for every American's effort to be involved, he added that Washington D.C. had no interest in ensuring the success of the average American, all that Washington does is to place people in boxes. Mr. Trump went ahead to expose the Washington saying that they are very good at separating people by age, race, income, place of birth, and geography. Mr. Trump urged the U.S. citizens to stop focusing on what divides the country but instead to focus on what unites the country.
The President-elect addressed a crowd that had gathered at the historic event in the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Trump mentioned the Ohio Gov. John Kasich by name but the crowd was not pleased by that, in fact the crowd booed.
Mr. Trump congratulated the audience saying that the Governor had called him after he won the election; Trump won the state of Ohio by almost 10 points which is very rare. The Ohio Governor John Kasich was one of the many Trump’s GOP primary rivals that refused to support Mr. Trump as the GOP nominee.
Speaking at the audience that was present, Trump congratulated them saying that they pounded the pavements and propelled to victory a grassroots movement that the world has never seen before.
The President-elect Donald Trump also mentioned the successful deal that he made with Carrier to retain 1,000 jobs in Indiana instead of the company outsourcing in Mexico; Trump thanked Carrier saying that he will do that all across the nation. Trump also addressed the issue of immigration saying that the people coming to America must be people who are loving and no hateful; he condemned hatred, prejudice, and bigotry saying that every American needs to spread the love.
