Woman In Texas Tasers Her Five-Year-Old Son

According to Houston police, Whitney White, 27 is being charged with felony injury to a child after she used a taser to discipline her 5-year-old son. The woman's son apparently got in trouble at school last fall, that is when his mother did the unimaginable. Using a self-defense weapon loaded with thousands of volts of electricity, White tased her son as a form of punishment. She admitted going to anger management classes when speaking with police, "My anger management class told me not to Tase him but we didn't go into what else to do."

That's right. This 27-year-old mother claims she didn't know "what else to do" to punish her five-year-old son. The injury has prompted felony charges against the mother and her son has been placed in Child Protective Services custody. In an interview with the police, the young boy who is now six years old said: "From zero to 10, it hurt 10". If a mother is willing to tase her son, one shutter at what else she is capable of and sure enough he told authorities of other abuses he suffered at the hands of his own mother. As recently as last month, the young boy described how his mother hit him with a belt. In a public statement, White's lawyer said "This is a CPS issue, not a criminal law issue. It's a discipline that went a little too far."

White's lawyer also said he expects the case to be dismissed after she completes parenting and anger management courses. One can only hope that is not the case. Although a taser may not seem like a serious injury, in September 2014 a policeman in a traffic stop tased a 17-year-old boy putting him into full cardiac arrest. He was clinically dead for 8 minutes before being revived at the scene by paramedics. This is just one example of many demonstrating how serious taser injuries can be.
