44 year old Rosanna Lynn was sitting in her car outside of a Publix Supermarket in Seminole after grocery shopping getting ready to head home when a horrific moment occurred.
As she was putting her money away in her purse, 49 year old Bobby Martin Watson approached her driver's side door, forced it open, punched her in the face and tried to grab her purse.
The woman tried to fight back against the thug, at which point he pulled out a hunting knife and began stabbing her in both the thigh and abdomen.
A good samaritan, US Army Veteran Christopher McMann saw what was happening and ran to protect the woman, at which point the attacker then stabbed him in the upper back and neck during the struggle for Rosanna’s purse.
Another brave good samaritan, 31 year old Travis Jones, then began chasing the armed maniac as he ran eastbound towards the Seminole City Shopping Center with McMann also chasing close behind.
As the duo was chasing the robber east on 113th Street, a third good samaritan, 40 year old Donald Rush saw what was occurring and grabbed a handgun from his vehicle and joined in the foot pursuit of Watson.
Deputies say McMann and Jones were able to tackle Watson into the concrete of the parking lot of the Seminole City Shopping Center. During the struggle however, Jones also was stabbed in the abdomen by Watson.
Rush was able to disarm Watson by holding him at gunpoint until deputies arrived and took Watson into custody.
All of the stab victims, Lynn, McMann, and Jones were all transported to Bayfront Medical Center to be treated for their injuries which emergency responders say are not life threatening.
Watson was transported to the Pinellas County Jail after being medically cleared, where Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies say he will be facing multiple felony charges including three counts of aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon/great bodily harm and armed robbery.
