Fugative Couple Uses App to Rob Charlotte Man

A couple is on the run after tricking a man into meeting them outside a Steele Creek apartment. The two have been identified as Jessica Williams and Darius. CMPD Detective T.M. Roddey said that the authorities are having a live Bonnie and Clyde situation with the two.

The investigators revealed that the couple used the "Offer Up" app to trick the man. The authorities also said that the husband and wife led the victim to believe that they were going to buy his iPhone 7. After thecouple got to the apartment complex, they robbed him at gunpoint and fled.

CMPD Officer Jonathan Frisk revealed that there's an uptick and that the police are aware of it. The robbery comes one month after the cold blooded murder of 21-year-old Zachary Finch.

The innocent college baseball player just wanted to buy a new cell phone when he was shot and killed, after meeting up with a teenager he met on the "LetGo" app.

“The kid didn’t have an enemy in the world,” Zach’s brother Nicholas said shortly after the murder.

There are some ways to protect yourself.

Frisk made a statement in which he said, “You want to go to a well-lit area. You preferably want to meet someone during the day time. We would definitely recommend going to one of the police stations or police headquarters.”He also reminds there’s strength in numbers, so try not to meet up alone.

There are a list of places across one's state that are suitable for making these changes, the list can be found on CMPD says more safe zones across Charlotte are in the works. Frisk hinted that they have plans underway to work something and put it in place for the near future. Crimestoppers have requested for your help in finding the husband and wife who police revealed have family in Charlotte and Gastonia.
