Sheriff's Deputies in Sebring, Florida, say that a convicted sex offender is on the run after cutting off his ankle monitor.
The Highlands County Sheriff's Office say that Gary Lee Ebersole was going to be arrested for violating probation, but cut off his ankle monitor on before deputies could arrive to detain him.
Law enforcement say that Eberle, 46 years of age, was last seen Monday around 9:30 AM at the Citgo gas station on Golfview and U.S. 27 in Sebring and hasn't been spotted since.
Arrest records for Ebersole say he is around 5'10" tall and weighs close to 160 pounds, and that he may be armed according to his family.
The home in which he's registered as a sex offender for is in Lorida which is eastern Highlands County, but law enforcement say his current location remains unknown as they continue to search for him.
Sheriff's Deputies are asking the public for any information about Ebersole or his whereabouts directing them to contact Deputy Cara Moseley at (863) 402-7200 or via email at [email protected] in order to apprehend this dangerous pedophile.
Court records show that Ebersole served seven years in prison for Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a victim under the age of 16, and that he's also served five years in prison for grand theft.
