Another “Mother” Arrested After Toddler’s Drug Overdose

An Illinois woman was arrested after her toddler was discovered unresponsive, and the baby later tested positive for meth and fentanyl.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said that first responders found the 17-month-old boy unresponsive and exhibiting signs of a narcotics overdose on Monday night. The child even had to require several doses of Narcan before regaining consciousness.

The police also discovered drug paraphernalia at the home of the mother identified as Billie Jean Cottle, 25. The child tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. The baby is expected to recover and be released from the hospital on Wednesday and into the care of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services.

Cottle was charged with aggravated battery to a child, reckless conduct and endangering the life or health of a child. She remains in custody with a bond pegged at $250,000

The Goldwater also reported days ago how a Texas junkie couple gave drugs including heroin to their new born daughter in a sick attempt to hide the heroin addiction she picked up from the mother, because the mom was taking drugs even when she was pregnant with the child. Two of her other young children also tested positive for drugs. The mother faced numerous charges including child abuse.
