The President-elect has accused Broadway’s musical Hamilton cast of harassing Mike Pence in a fervent speech. The alleged ‘harassment’ took place at the Richard Rodgers Theatre during the performance of Hamilton; as the Vice-president took a seat, the audience responded by booing.
The actors on stage addressed Mike’s presence as the show was ending. However, Donald Trump has not taken this lightly, he has urged the actors to apologize for their inappropriate behavior adding that the theatre is a special and safe place.
The President-elect made a tweet in which he said that the V.P. Mike Pence had been harassed in the theater by Hamilton’s cast; he added that this should not happen again. Mr. Trump added that the theatre should be a special and safe place and that the Hamilton’s cast behavior was very rude.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is a criticizer of Donald Trump’s campaign and the author of the musical; the musical features one of America’s Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton.
In a tweet made by Matt Wilston of the Daily Beast, he said that Mike Pence did not deserve to watch Hamilton. Matt filmed the footage of Mike Pence’s arrival.
There has been several critics concerning the Vice-president’s extreme views; for instance, the Governor of Indiana who happens to be an evangelical Christian said that businesses should be have the right to discriminate against gays based on religious beliefs.
Among the audience in the Theatre was Brandon Victor Dixon and when the show ended. The cast addressed the V.P. by saying ‘’Vice President Elect Pence, welcome’’ the cast continued by welcoming the V.P. for joining the Hamilton.
The cast went to the extremes by saying that the diverse America was anxious and alarmed of the V.P. administration and that he was afraid if the V.P. administration ws going to defend the rights of the children, parents, and the planet at large.
The cast also added that he hoped that the Hamilton show had inspired the V.P. to uphold the American values on behalf of the U.S. citizens.
