Palestinians Clash With Israeli Forces On Temple Mount, Jerusalem

Israeli authorities are reporting yet again of an increase in already high tensions as riot police were forced into action tonight in Jerusalem.

Several clashes broke out between the Muslim worshipers and Israeli police in the Old City of Jerusalem for the third night in a row on Tuesday, in response to Israel placing metal detectors at entrances to the Temple Mount compound following a terror attack in the area.

The official report according to police states that after evening prayers at a gate outside the Temple Mount, a group of Muslim worshipers “started throwing rocks and bottles at the officers” who were stationed in the Old City.

Multiple Palestinians were reportedly injured, at least one seriously, when they clashed with the Israeli police during the confrontation near Jerusalem's Noble Sanctuary, Temple Mount compound after Muslim evening prayers on Tuesday, according to Palestinian medical officials.

Local hospital doctors said that one man had suffered a serious head wound from a rubber bullet fired from close range but an Israeli police spokesman denied that rubber bullets had been used. A senior Muslim cleric was also hurt, witnesses said.

The never ending chaos has increased around the compound, which is holy to Muslims and Jews since three Arab-Israeli gunmen shot dead two Israeli policemen outside the complex on Friday in one of the most serious attacks in the area in years.

Human rights group The Red Crescent said that a total of 34 people were injured, including 14 people needing hospitalization. One person had a serious chest injury, a spokesperson said.

In the video, you can see the enraged rioters running from tear gas and stun grenades used by Israeli police. Officers also stated that two of their Israeli Security forces were severely injured as well.
