Smiling Alabama Gangbanger Busted In Child Sex Trafficking Ring

In the South it's incredibly rare for Americans to take lightly harming children, in fact the Southern Hospitality has it's limits when it comes to anyone who would abuse a minor.

Which is why the community in Jeff Sessions’ hometown of Mobile, Alabama, immediately reported for Federal Investigation a man who they believed was running not only a drug dealing crime ring, but involved in a child sex trafficking network.

A covert undercover sting operation led to the arrest of a Mobile man for human trafficking after authorities were tipped off to his would be reign of disgusting terror.

The 24-year-old Maurice Reed was detained immediately thereafter as Federal Investigators now take over the case to determine who else is involved and where the victims were being transported.

Law enforcement stated that the investigation started on June 9 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, when undercover detectives started answering sex ads placed by this criminal syndicate online. Those ads then led them to a motel off I-20, where they found the first two victims, forced into sex labor.

Lieutenant Darren Beams with the Tuscaloosa Police said the first woman they encountered was brought to the United States under false pretenses and forced to make at least $1,000 a day having sex.

"Her visa had expired. She was not supposed to be in the country. She didn't know what city she was in.” said Lt. Beams. “We noticed that she appeared to be malnourished in certain ways, and she indicated she had not eaten for 36 hours. The other female had not let her eat."

Authorities say that the other female victim he mentioned is a 25-year-old from Virginia. She was also prisoner herself forcefully brought to the United States as a child.

However she was also arrested for recruiting the immigrant woman into the sex trafficking ring.

Police say that Reed, an alleged top level ringleader of the operation, was missing from the scene of the crimes.

Law enforcement said that their authorities had been searching across the nation for more than a month until United States Marshals were able to finally track down Reed in Alabama at a relative's home in Semmes. The home was on Stonepine Dr. in the Dunwood neighborhood.

Authorities said when they approached Reed fled on foot, knowing he was in for a serious barrage of charges. Neighbors told the press they saw him jump over several fences and run through yards as if a wild man fleeing detainment. He was found moments later less than half a mile away hiding inside the bed of a random truck.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was then able to find him. A spokesperson from Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said that Reed was attacked by the dog on his upper and lower left leg, sustained minor injuries, and was transported to University of Southern Alabama Medical Center before he went to Metro Jail.

Several officials including Lt. Beams and deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office say they don’t believe the sex trafficking ring was run out of just Mobile County. However, Beams says the investigation shows the sex operation was extensive all throughout the region.

"We have where they were in Miami, Florida and in fact, in Mobile, Alabama.” Said Lt. Beams. “So, it was fluid, it was a moving operation and they just happened to be in Tuscaloosa on the weekend we ran an operation."

Reed was recently taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail from Metro Jail, where he will likely face Federal Investigation by the Justice Department, ironically headed by Jeff Sessions of Mobile, Alabama, as Attorney General.

Lt. Beams said that the Department of Homeland Security is also investigating this case and there could be federal charges in the near future with the hopes to bring down the entire network.
