The United States Coast Guard per Seventh District has issued a warning of a search and rescue operation in response to a ‘downed aircraft’ off the Florida coast.

The expected crash site is a total of seventeen miles northwest of Opa Locka, Florida, Coast Guard said.

There are no reports of fatalities yet but this is an ongoing operation and the Coast Guard will search the region until wreckage or bodies are found.

There has been no official statement as to what type of aircraft has crashed yet, however Coast Guard have stated they've sent helicopters up for the search efforts.
