The fire erupted around 10:30 pm on Tuesday last week. The Elkin Fire Department was joined by several volunteer departments to extinguish the flames. Employees of the store also jumped in to help put out the blaze
Authorities had little to go on. Now, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is saying the fire was intentionally set by a 15-year-old boy.
A petition was issued for the boy after surveillance video was reviewed.
The video purportedly shows the teen approaching the artificial flower section of the story and deliberately setting it ablaze. No information was available as to how the little firebug's parents plan to punish him, but he'll certainly be mowing a lot of lawns to pay off $3M.
