Radio France Inter said on Sunday that Mohamed Abrenne, a suspect in the Paris and Brussels terrorist attacks, had admitted to the court that his cell was planning to detonate a car bomb during the European Championship in France in 2016.
"Arbini" Salah Abdel Salam, the only survivor of the group that carried out the Paris and San Doni attacks on November 13, 2015, prevented his cell from carrying out the attack. He explained that the arrest of Salah Abdel Salam in an apartment in the town of "Mullenbeck" in Brussels on March 18, 2016, prompted his group to change its plans and move quickly in the Belgian capital a few days later.
Mohammed Arbini, a suspect in the Paris attacks, had admitted to being the "hat man" who appeared in surveillance cameras at Brussels airport on March 22 with two people involved in two suicide bombings. The attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis have killed 130 people, while Brussels has killed 32 people, and French security services fear after the failed attack on Avenue Champs Elysees last Monday, the car bomb attacks.
