Bernie Sanders Declares Willingness to Cooperate with President-Elect Donald Trump

Soon after Donald Trump was elected as the next president of the United States, former Democratic presidential nominee Bernie Sanders delivered a statement to express his willingness to cooperate with him. In a statement, the senator from Vermont noted that he is ready to work with Trump on his policies.

After the results of the election were finalized on Wednesday, Trump called on the various political factions in the country to unite for the development of the nation. In line with this theme, Sanders also expressed his desire for unity by working alongside Trump’s incoming administration.

“To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him,” Sanders said according to The Hill.

As noted by Sanders, Trump was able to appeal to the middle class by promising to bring back jobs to the American people. This includes revitalizing the manufacturing industries of various states.

“People are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries, of billionaires not paying any federal income taxes and of not being able to afford a college education for their kids,” Sanders said.

During his own campaign, Sanders has been known as an advocate for the country’s working class and has often criticized Hillary Clinton’s reputation as being a Wall Street insider due to the allegations that she plans to implement open trade with open borders.

However, after losing the primaries, Sanders endorsed Clinton.

But, with Trump winning the presidential race through a very strong victory, Sanders, like the president-elect, immediately saw the importance of unification. After coming from a very colorful presidential race, Sanders also believes that the various political factions in the country should come together to support their incoming leader and his policies.

He should. His partner is probably going to jail. Can't believe anyone in America voting for a socialist.
