Ireland - Multiple Aircraft Sightings of “UFO” Trigger An Aviation Probe

Could it be a case of a UFO sighting?

Pilots reported seeing what appears to be a UFO off the coast of Ireland, and because of such possible sighting, the Irish Aviation Authority is investigating the incident.

Shannon Air Traffic Control first got a call from a British Airways pilot flying from Montreal to Heathrow over County Kerry at around 6:47 a.m. on November 9.

The pilot said that the object on question came up alongside the plane before disappearing at “a very high speed.” The pilot also said that the object came up on the aircraft’s left-hand side and then quickly veered to the north.

An audio clip was posted by LIVEATC.net, where the pilot can be heard inquiring if there were any military exercises being conducted within the plane’s airspace at that time.

The pilot also described the object as “a bright light before it vanished at a high speed”. The lady pilot also said they were puzzled what the object could be, saying that it did not appear to be on a collision course.

Controllers on the ground for their part said there was “nothing showing on either primary or secondary (radar).”

Two more planes were also heard reporting the said sighting to Shannon Air Traffic Control.

Another pilot who witnessed the sighting described the speed of the object as “astronomical” and that “’it was like Mach 2”, or twice the speed of sound.

A Virgin Airlines pilot, on the other hand, suggested that the sighting could be an object “re-entering the earth’s atmosphere after reporting seeing “multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory…very bright from where we were.”

The Irish Aviation Authority won’t say anything or confirm if what was sighted was indeed a UFO except to say they have reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday and that the matter is being investigated “under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process.”

Social media users have various reactions to the report.
