Germany Hit By Eerie “End of Times” Storm

||| EU Severe Weather Center |||

Severe Thunderstorm activity commenced in the morning with a MCS/QLCS (Mesoscale convective system / Quasi-Linear Convective System) approaching Northern Germany across the North Sea. The QLCS intensified over land and hit several large cities, including Hamburg and Hannover.

Such storms are not common in the region. The ever present similarities of the storms hitting the nation now have many on the ground claiming it looks like the “End Times”.

The EU Severe Weather Center posted on it's website the following statement, “It has been an exceptionally active day over Germany – and it is not over yet! Numerous thunderstorms are ongoing over much of the country right now, also moving into Czech Republic. We take a look at the best reports of today so far. We are updating with additional reports, so check back soon!”

Many images are flooding in from the German outskirts showing beautiful and exotically dangerous funnel clouds as well as ultraviolet blue and white clouds that Meteorologists are saying resemble “The Morning Glory Cloud” system.

Morning Glory clouds are a meteorological phenomenon that is seldom seen outside of Australia. For them to be visible in Germany is truly remarkable.

Meteorologists say that these clouds are consisting of a low-level atmospheric solitary wave and associated cloud, occasionally observed in different locations around the world. The wave often occurs as an amplitude-ordered series of waves forming bands of roll clouds.

Most residents are being told to take shelter from the upcoming storm system as it's unknown at this time what other events could spark from the rare storm.
