NY - Limo Crash Kills 20 Including Passengers and Pedestrians

Authorities have confirmed that a limousine crashed into another vehicle and pedestrians in New York state on Saturday killing twenty people.

The New York State Police said on Sunday that a limo sped down a hill and collided with another vehicle in Schoharie County, near Albany. Tragically, the limo also hit and killed bystanders who happened to be in the area at that ill-fated time.

Local media reports say the limo was carrying a wedding party.

For now, the police can not give exact information and other details as to how many of the casualties were bystanders, and how many came from the unfortunate vehicles involved in the fatal collision. The National Transportation Safety Board is probing the incident.

Gov. The heartbreaking thing is the bystanders killed in the incident were just merely customers at the Apple Barrel County Store.

The store manager, Jessica Kirby, sadly told the local media: “The limo was coming down that hill probably over 60 mph. I don’t want to describe the scene. It’s not something I wish to think about.”

Coincidentally, the timing was just so tragic that the accident happened during one of the store’s busiest days of the year with customers coming from New York and New Jersey.

Kirby said it happened to be that time of the year when, “a lot of people from New York City come up and they do the country things, the apple picking and the sort.”

For now, the authorities have decided to withhold releasing of the victims’ identities until they are able to reach out to the families of all concerned to relay to them the unfortunate news.

A press conference is also scheduled by the authorities later on Sunday where they are expected to give more details about the shocking and tragic incident.

It is not yet clear if the authorities are looking at anyone to be responsible or liable for the sorry fatal accident.
