It was one hell of a ride for Judge Brett Kavanaugh to get his confirmation to the Supreme Court following a tough and intense Senate hearings that his supporters feel like his eventual victory is tantamount to a championship feeling. For that and another reason, supporters and believers of Kavanaugh are celebrating with beer, making #BeersForBrett trend on Twitter.
The other reason, of course, aside from the jubilation is #BeersForBrett is a reference to Kavanaugh’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week where he repeatedly expressed his liking the alcoholic drink.
Kavanaugh was famously- or infamously to his critics and detractors- quoted in the Senate proceedings as saying: “Yes, we drank beer. My friends and I, the boys and girls. Yes, we drank beer. I liked beer. I still like beer. We drank beer.”
The newest Supreme Court Justice also added: “We drank beer and I said sometimes -sometimes- probably had too many beers and sometimes people had too many beers.”
Kavanaugh’s supporters want to put the grueling Senate proceedings behind, and simply celebrate Trump’s nominee’s victory by toasting him, with… what else? Beer! Beer freely flowed and “reached “ Twitter as #BeersForBrett trended and took the social media by storm, just as Kavanaugh’s believers also celebrated offline.
