Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate Highway 10 news Beaumont, Texas. In what they assumed would be a routine violation and ticket they were shocked at what they would inevitably find.
38-year-old Benina Villarreal, of Rio Grand City, Texas was driving with her 9 year old son and 18 year old daughter in the vehicle alongside her.
When speaking to Villarreal, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies became suspicious of their behavior and then asked for permission to search the vehicle. Benina Villarreal, while uncontrollably nervous then obliged and granted them permission.
Upon conducting the search the Sheriff’s Deputies discovered 17 bundles of Marijuana concealed in panels across the vehicle. The official weight of the total confiscation was 42 pounds of highly potent strains of cannabis.
The officer did have some heart, however, and upon arresting the driver released the vehicle and the minor child to the 18-year-old daughter for supervision instead of taking custody of the minor.
Miss Villarreal was booked into the Jefferson County jail on the charge of Possession of Marijuana and the bond was set at $25,000.00.
The estimated Street value of the marijuana was around $84,000.00 in total.
